RAP5-WN Remote Mesh Portal

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy a RAP5-WN as a Remote Mesh Portal in ArubaOS 5.0.0.1.
It shows up as a portal, correct band and so on.

Problem is when I try to connect an AP61 as Mesh Point to this RAP5.
Just doesn't come up. I read the manual, added the Mesh Private VLAN to the profile. Added DHCP server config in the RAP5, added a Virtual AP with the Mesh Private VLAN and forward mode split tunnel. Lots of extra config for the remote mesh portal!

If i connect my console to AP61, this is what I can see;
AP rebooted Fri Dec 31 16:10:54 PST 1999; Mesh link could not be sustained for 15 minutes.
shutting down watchdog process (nanny wError removing br0 from bridge vlan 5

Easiest Way

The best way to set this up is with the remote mesh portal wizard that is under the "AP Wizard" under configuration in ArubaOS 5.0. Give it a try...

Please try pure mesh network setup first

Please ignore "error removing br0 from bridge vlan xyz". That should not cause any issues.
I think the real issue is "mesh link not staying up for longer duration". In such case, I will first configure pure mesh network to see everything works fine and then convert it to Remote mesh network.

Re: RAP5-WN Remote Mesh Portal

I will try the wizard and see what comes out of that!
