RAP5-WN and AT&T Shockwave (Aircard USB 308)

Does anyone have experience with AT&T's Shockwave and a RAP5-WN? I have read the forums and have been unable to make the RAP use the modem.

I tried the built in profiles. I also made a simple profile as Other, device as sierra-gsm and device ID as 0x0f3d68a3. However, this combination did not work. The profile keeps defaulting back to the ATT 885 with the device ID greyed out whenever I check the RAP provisioning profile again.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Try this:

device = any
device-type sierra-gsm
device identifier 0x119968a3
dial string ATDT*99***1#
initialization string AT+CGDCONT=1,'IP','wap.cingular'
TTY device path ttyUSB6

If it doesn't work, please open a support case....

Re: RAP5-WN and AT&T Shockwave (Aircard USB 308)

The RAP never detected the modem with device ID 0x119968a3. However, using the device ID from my post, the modem was found and worked. Strangely enough, it didn't work yesterday no matter what I did. I tried the configuration again today and voila. Weird.

This configuration did work:

device = any
device-type sierra-gsm
device identifier 0x0f3d68a3
dial string ATDT*99***1#
initialization string AT+CGDCONT=1,'IP','isp.cingular'
TTY device path ttyUSB6

Thanks for the help!
