Run the throughput test from the remote access point (RAP) console

Hi all,

According to the Aruba KB818, I can test throughput buy telnet to the RAP and do a file transfer from the AP to the controller. I was able to telnet the RAP after changing configuration in the profile to allow telnet, but the command ftp_image did not work:

~ # Switching to Full Access
~ # ping 172.18.254.200
PING 172.18.254.200 (172.18.254.200): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 172.18.254.200: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=36.1 ms
64 bytes from 172.18.254.200: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=39.0 ms
~ # ftp_image 172.18.254.200 mips64.ari 3
/bin/sh: ftp_image: not found
~ #

My controller: MODEL: Aruba3600-US, Version 3.4.2.0. My RAPs are AP-65 and AP-70

Anyone has the same problem?

Thanks.

Colin,

Thank you for the fast response. I had different error:

time: cannot run ftp_image
Command exited with non-zero status 127

Not sure if this works with anything before 5.0

I'm not sure if this runs on anything before ArubaOS 5.0. It might also work on the "RN" code.

This is what I got on 5.0

~ # time ftp_image 10.69.69.16 mips64.ari 3
real 1m 10.57s
user 0m 0.14s
sys 0m 0.76s
~ # cat /tmp/download_log
Downloaded 4116884 bytes at 1084.62 kbps
Downloaded 4116884 bytes at 1057.70 kbps

DOWNLOADS=2 TOTAL-BYTES=8233768 RATE=1071.16kbps

RN

Yes, the KB article says RN and above, which means RN code and 5.0 code, and nothing else.
