802.11n greenfield detection

Can an AP-121abg (pre-n model) configured as an air monitor only detect rogue APs that are strictly talking 802.11n standards? (or configured specifcly to not be backwards compatible.) Or is an n-capable AP required?

HI John,
From my understanding, you would need to have an AP that supports 802.11n. In addition, the AP would have to be able to scan 2.4GHz, and 5GHz spectrum.

"Detection" of 11n/Greenfield APs can be done by non-11n (Legacy) APs.
Management frames (like Beacons) are visible; But HT-Greenfield/HT-Mixed Format Data frames are not received;
