Radius and server response =6

We have been having trouble using radius to authenticate some PC's and several Mac's to a radius server. Radius server is on Win 2003 server and tied to active directory I noticed in the log file on the controller that when a station tries to authenticate I get several server response=6 then finally a server response =0 this can take up to five minutes. This is the first radius server I have used so my knowledge is limited on proper settings any help would be great

Event Viewer

I'd start by taking a stroll thru your event viewer on your server running IAS to see if anything there tells you what's going on.

Radius Server Response Codes

Response Codes;

0 - Auth_OK
1 - Auth_Fail - user/password combination not correct
2 - Auth_Timeout - auth request timed out; no response from server
3 - Internal Error - internal error in auth; should engage engineering
4 - Bad Response from server - check shared secret
5 - No Auth Server configured
6 - Challenge from server * does not necessarily indicate an error condition

Re: Radius and server response =6

Thanks for the info. I have narrowed down to a problem with OS 10.6. I have created a test network using wpa2 and the Mac's take 5 minutes or better to authenticate using radius or the internal db.
