Location discovery allows the user to discover shared devices based on proximity to the AirGroup server. It uses the location attributes from CPPM such as AP-name, AP-group or AP-FQLN.

Active Wireless Discovery: controllers actively send refresh requests to discover wireless servers. If disabled, the controller sends refresh requests to wired AirGroup servers only.

    Thank you.

    I have it working now.

Is there a way to import a list of apple tvs?

Importing apple TVs- from where to where?

I think I already know the answer to this question but not sure.

Is CPPM required for Airgroup Location Discovery to be useful?

Or can Airgroup be setup without the CPPM and be able to restrict devices from connecting to an airgroup device within a certain area?

Without ClearPass you can control AirGroup by user-role and VLAN. You could get creative by assigning certain roles in certain areas but it will likely get messy as it grows.

Starting 6.4.3 onwards we will be able to provide location based filtering on the controller itself (without requireing ClearPass. WLAN admins can individually pick the Apple TV and tag it a location ID (ap-name, ap-group, ap-fqln), or automatically tag the location ID for all Apple TVs that support airplay.

    How is that possible?

I just upgraded to 6.4.3 and I don't see how to configure that option

Try force refreshing your browser. It will be the third tab under AirGroup.

    Thanks,
    Tim

I'm a little retarded. Could you possible provide a screenshot?

Also, I failed to mention that I'm using an Aruba Instant Solution...

I would love to see this feature available on the Instant platform!

Is it part of the current roadmap?
