Anyone ever run into this? Why does it happen? How to make it stop?

What version and skin are you using?  CSS files are generally not in the emails.  If you have the ability to see the raw email (On a Mac: View>Message>Raw Source), find the piece that has the css included and paste it here.

6.6.8 and it's a Custom Skin and a modification of the sponsor confirmation template. I don't have a MAC unfortunately.

What else can I do to show you?

A 'Custom Skin' aka 'Custom Skin 1' that ships with all ClearPass, or a 'custom skin' from professional services and the skins team?

'Custom Skin 1/2' has no css files in it whatsoever.

You somehow need to see how your email client will display the raw source that it was sent.

    Ya sorry my apologies.

Customer Skin 1 that we built. My developer obviously has used CSS stylings in the skin and the headers of the web login pages/self-reg pages.

I am looking at the headers through outlook and I don't see anything that sticks out to me....also what is odd is the Outlook client on windows shows a paperclip but there is not attachment but if I look at it through the web, it has an attachment.
    Gmail app shows an attachment...

    Thanks,
    Pash

What is interesting is that if I choose a custom skin for my email template. The attachment disappears even though there is CSS in the skin...

If I choose no skin - HTML only, the attachment appears....

Opened a TAC case and TAC came back saying that we should use a skin to remove the issue.

We ended up getting Harry to install some more skins on our box and used Custom Skin 3 to go around the issue.

Whatever reason, using no skin - HTML only attaches a CSS file to the email.

Keep in mind the Custom Skin skins have a toggle for what email to use: 'Legacy' or 'New'.  Chances are you want New.

All config for skins is under Guest>Admin>Plugin Manager, then the Configuration link assigned to whatever skin you are using.

Ah, that was one of the first features added to 6.7.  Long time ago now.

    Hahhaha..good one..

All good, we ended up using the "blank skin" instead of custom skin 3.

Just finishing up some testing to make sure the sponsor link works but the look and feel is good and there is no attachment.
