    Hello,

In my network which we are going to implement we need to enable captive portal but we do not have PEF License therefore, how this is going to affect our captive portal configuration and operation ? does this mean I can not have captive portal ? does it mean that I will not be able to create user roles before and after authentication , I will not be able to use the following command

    " IP access-list session pre-authentication " to create a new policy ?

You can use the WLAN/LAN Wizard to create a captive portal network.

You cannot create firewall policies and roles, though.

Thank you. does this mean also that I will not be able to use an external server e.g. cisco ACS as the authentication server for the wireless users?

You will be able to use an external server for authentication.  You just cannot configure firewall policies for clients that authenticate.
