We currently have a single server w/ CP-VA-5K license installed for clearpass guest. We are interested in deploying this globally for guests. If we estimated only 3K devices would utilized this service globally and want to deploy an additional 3 servers is it required to have a CP-VA-5K per device?

I know there is something about publisher and subscriber can these servers just pool from a global license so we can purchase smaller licenses for just the server activation at sites?

Application licenses are pooled (guest, onboard, onguard, enterprise). Each
additional server SKU includes the base licenses.

So if you're expanding and adding boxes, you'll need X number of
    CP-VA-(500/5K/25K)

So just so I understand if adding additional servers we just need minimum licening for whatever clearpass use whicn in our case is just guest provisioning CP-VA-500 per server, this will get added to the pool of the 5K already making our total pool 5,500 with 2 servers.

Base licenses are really pooled. It's based on the requests that hit that
box. For example, if you load balance between a 5k and a 500, your 500 will
exceed it's license and performance will take a hit.
