Do you mean it won't give out additional IPs after some time?

Please share each of the following:

    show vlan

    show ip interface brief

    show ip dhcp database

It looks like you have your lease set for about 10 minutes, is that right?     Do you have the port trusted or is your device getting a role when attached.  Also, what version of code are you running?   Please share the following too.

    show ip dhcp statistics

    show port status

show user (when device is attached)

If the device shows in the user table, run the following:

show rights <role the user in above>

What port are you plugging your PC into?  I notice you have spanning-tree enabled, do you need to?   If not, run:

    no spanning-tree

    wr mem

I want to set the lease time to 9hours.

I test my laptop by connecting it at different ports i.e port 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 but after 10mins the dhcp lease would not be renew at each port.

You said, DHCP lease must be renew after 10mins but after 10mins my laptop take link local address (169.224.0.0/16). I also apply this command on cmd ipconfig/renew but still not get new ip parameters. I have disabled my LAN card for a while then enable it but it couldnt get the NEW IP parameters from DHCP service.

I am not sure about spanning tree whether it is enabled on each port or not !!!

What version of ArubaOS are you running on the 620?

If you want the lease time to be 9 hours, then issue the following:

    ip dhcp pool default-pool

    lease 0 9 0 0

    wr mem

If you have a lease time of 9 hours, your client will usually attempt a renewal after 1/2 of the lease time has expired (in your case around 4.5 hours).   If it fails to renew, it will continue periodically.

Spanning tree is enable by default.   Please try and disable it gloablly if you don't need it.

    no spanning-tree

When a user is connected with an IP successfully, can you run show user to see if any users are in the table?   If the ports are trusted, you should not see them.

    show user

    AOS version 6.3.1.6

Each port is trusted. When i run the command show user or show user-table it didnt show even a single entity.

Note: Today is my holiday and i have no access of the controller, but the above commands show user or show user-table i have test yesterday, with port trusted condition.

I will update here on monday 2nd june.

    couple of things to try.

    - turn off spanning-tree (no spanning-tree command)

    - enable DHCP debugging

    config t

logging level debug network subcat dhcp

    Try to get IP/renew/whatever

    share output of the following:

show log network all | include <mac of client>

There is no effect before and after disabling the Spanning tree by the command below.

    "no spanning stree"

    also apply the command

    ip dhcp pool default-pool

    lease 0 9 0 0

    wr mem

But still controller didnt provide the dhcp service to the user. Show user command didnt show any user.

On controller uplink port i am getting the DHCP before and after disabling STP. but on port 0 - 7 i am not getting DHCP service..

Have you tried my suggestion of DHCP debugging:

    config t

logging level debug network subcat dhcp

Try to get IP/renew/whatever is having a problem.

    share output of the following:

show log network all | include <mac of client>

After the debug command... Now i am getting the DHCP service on each port of  controller with a lease time 23 hours.

But i have to check whether the lease time would automatically change or not ?

However i also applied copy run startup config and write mem....

After testing on each port i will update you soon..

But what is the purpose of this command ?

logging level debug network subcat dhcp. Please explain me .

The debugging command is only to enable a higher of logging (so we could troubleshoot the logs).  It has not technical implications.  Keep checking the clients and reviewing the the network log if you have a renewal problem.

Also, you should disable it when you are done troubleshooting:

no logging level debug network subcat dhcp

Now the ip address automatically renew when the lease time expires. Also disable the no logging level debug network subcat dhcp.

Now it getting the IP address from DHCP service on each port. My question is what was the problem ?

I have restart the controller, client machine gets the ip from DHCP service. lease time set to 1 hour. Controller is not connected to any part of the network. So i didnt set the Default gateway on controller.

    Here is the output.

According to your above post, yes you are right, this command cannot have any technical implication. But after applying this command my issue is resolved.

    STRANGE BUT TRUE !!!!

you cannot set the lease time to 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes (15 seconds is the minimum I believe).   Please set it to something like 4 hours to test.   Regardless, even if it is 10 minutes, the client should renew its IP without issue.

I have again set the lease time to 0days 23hours 60mins and 60sec  but after sometime when i check it revert back to 10mins and 60secs.. although i have aply and configuration and then save configuration.

However i am not the new user on aruba controller platoform. I knew about it but facing such type of problem first time.

Can you confirm what you believe your lease times to be?  You should not be able to set 60mins or 60sec; 0-59 should be the valid values.  Please run the following on your setup:

    ip dhcp pool default-pool

    lease 0 1 0 0

    wr mem

This shoudl set the lease at 1 hour.

    show ip dhcp database

    Verify the default-lease-time and max-lease-time read 3600
