Error when creating CSR for wildcard certificate

    When creating a Certificate Signing Request for a wildcard certificate (e.g. *.example .com), I receive an error " Common Name supports only some special characters (-, _, .) ".

     

    although, according to this information: https://www.sslsupportdesk.com/aruba-clearpass-csr-instructions/ it should be possible.

     

    Any idea how to avoid this error?

    Hi,

     

    You need to create the CSR on an external server like Linux or Windows then you can generate the cert then import the cert & private key into ClearPass.
