    Dear all,

     

    I am configuring the second pool and getting error. Here is the output

     

    (Aruba620) (config) #ip dhcp pool pool2
    (Aruba620) (config-dhcp)#dns-server 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

    (Aruba620) (config-dhcp)#lease 1 0 0 0
    (Aruba620) (config-dhcp)#network 172.16.1.0 255.255.255.0
    Failed to add pool pool2 which has 254 addresses. Maximum addresses configurable is 256.  Currently configured are 253 addresses. You may want to exclude unused address ranges.

    There is a limitation on 6.3 with 620 controller that you cant exceed more than 256 DHCP scale; that is the reason you get this error message. Find below for some other controllers as well.

     

    620 -- 256

    650/3200/3400/3600/M3 -- 512

     

    We could either reloading the box to 6.2 configure the DHCP pool whatever you need and then upgrade to 6.3 to see if that helps else host a dhcp server outside the controller to take care of.

    After downdgrading the AOS to 6.1.3.10 i am able to make aother DHCP pool.

    nice you solved it, but there is a reason for that limit and in this way you resitrcit yourself from ever upgrading. might be better to look for an external dhcp server.

    ... or switch to another vendor. For example, to Cisco.
