Issue to redirect user after captive-portal authentication.

    Hi, 

     

    We have a setup of controller, and cppm, configured with external captive-portal. The client is not getting redirected to the actual page entered by the user, rather is getting redirected to securelogin.arubanetworks.com, and the page doesnt load. The user is however able to browse the internet opening new tab. The user is also gets authenticated the captive-portal and gets the authenticated role. 

     

    What is the possible reason for the issue?

     

    Where do i enter the url, to which the user has to be redirected after the captive-portal authentication?

    When your user first associates to the SSID and gets the CPPM page, do you see the user's requested page as an argument in the URL?

    I did not have chance to check it. if we want the user to be redirected to the company website, after captive -portal authentication. 

     

    Do we have to mention this redirect url in the controller captive-portal profile or on the CPPM?

    You shouldn't have to do anything for that to happen.

    In the captive portal page in Clearpass or the captive portal profile in the controller are you forcing the users to get redirected to a specific page ?

    If you are can you try removing it and see if it works

    Hi, 

     

    I am facing the similar issue. we have clearpass server which is hosting the captive portal page. customer is getting the captive portal page and after entering username and password, the URL is changing to controller IP address and showing certificate warning message.

     

    Why client is redirected to the controller IP address after successful captive portal authentication?

    Did you replace the captive portal certificate on the controller and clearpass?  If not, you have a second problem...
