Q: upgrading 6.2.6.62196 to version 6.3.2.63239 - Harddrive questions.

    Hi Guys,

    Im using

    ClearPass Policy Manager 6.2.6.62196 on CP-VA-5K platform

    and i would like to upgrade to

    ClearPass Upgrade version 6.3.2.63239

    I read the upgrade note - and i notice that i need to pay attaniton to the harddrive size + number of drives.

    today i have two diffrent drives.

    A. i do i know which of them is using me?

    B. What should i do before upgrading? sould i add a 3rd hard drive ? or edit the current drives? Please advise.

    Add additional HD with at least 500 G

    0:0 is your core drive. That one should never be touched.

    You will need to add one more drive and that one will be partitioned in half. So if this is a production vm it should be 500 gb if I remover right. Check the vm guide. Once the drive is added you need to reboot and add the drive. Once the vm is upgraded you can delete SCSI 0:1 but keep it until you make sure all is good with the upgrade, and I would also take a snapshot and back up.

    There should be a few post from Danny on how to see what drive is being used.

    Do the following from cli to figure out what drive is in use:

     

    [appadmin@clearpass# system boot-image -l
    ClearPass Platform 6.2.0.54353
    Aruba ClearPass 6.3.4.64924 [Active] on SCSI (0:1)

     

    If you're pre 6.3 you'll see 2 drives with only 1 of 'em active.
