    Hi

I have a requirement, we would like to allow smart devices with "Alcatel-Lucent OTNS SmartApp" app alone be associated to the SSID. we would like to keep away the other smart devices out of connecting to the SSID. The laptops(windows and MAC) should be allowed to connect.

is this possible to be achived?

This would require both ClearPass and an MDM solution.

    Thanks,
    Tim

Cappalli, I am fine with the controller configuration. Any sample configuration on clearpass, as how the MDM solution could be implemented, will be helpful.

Is this possible to be implemented with just the controller and clearpass?

no, as neither the controller nor clearpass can see which Apps are installed on the smartphone when it connects to your SSID.

you will need a system that can look at which Apps are installed and relay that information to ClearPass. a MDM is then the way to go.
