SMS over SMTP

ClearPass Policy Manager 6.7.2.105008

I'm just curious, is anyone else having trouble with SMS over SMTP where CPPM does not recognise some characters in the receipient's address? Has an active TAC opened.

 

I've tried '/' and '#' that failed. '+' works okay.

 

Can't remember the previous version was on but that was working okay.

Also read the release notes but can't find anything on it.

Could you share TAC ticket number, it looks like a known issue.

We have issue when + is used in sms over smtp in 6.7.1 code but in your case + character is working fine and version is 6.7.2.

 

It may be bug, I see you have shared logs to engineer, lets engineer analyze the log and confirm whether you are hitting similar bug.

For any one affected, response from TAC:

 

"We already have a bug filed for this issue with bug ID#44425 and fix is to update the server to 6.7.3 because from 6.7.x Guest no longer uses it's native SMTP implementation.

ClearPass 6.7.3 is expected to be released in third or fourth week on May."
