Base on the doc, the SNMP Traps Receiver is used for System up-time, Network interface statistics [up/down], Process monitoring information, Disk usage, CPU load information, Memory usage

May I know what's the usage of System Monitoring?

Is your Q about the GUI 'System Monitoring'.....

Not all customer have a SNMP management product [or even understand SNMP].... We've also exposed additional reporting in the GUI and it can provide some monitoring trend where as most [not all] of the OID are point in time values that need to be read and then mapped against a time-line..... plus System Monitoring is just their and easy....

nope, I am referring to "Administration > Server Manager > Server Configuration > System Monitoring"

may I know what's the usage of this SNMP as compared to the SNMP trap receiver?

This is where you need to set your SNMP R/O communites strings..... i.e. your R/O community like 'public'.

    Hi Ray,

You can speficy the SNMP configuration(Community String/V3Credentials) under Server Manager >> Server Configuration >> System Monitoring. And add the ClearPass server to any NMS with the same SNMP configuration for basic Monitoring like Memory/CPU usage, server up-time and basic system configuration as shown below.

The System Monitoring will allow the NMS to poll(SNMP) the ClearPsss to check the above status and basic system configuration.

Configuring "SNMP Traps Receivers" is where the ClearPass server will send the Traps to the specified receivers.

    Hi Ray,

The ClearPass System Event will log errors, when a node goes out of sync. You can notify the events(WARN or ERROR) by means of Cluster-Wide Parameters >> Notifications  or Syslog Export.
