    Hi All,

Is there an upgrade path from Amigopod to Clearpass Guest other than to manually create everything?

    Cheers

    James

    Dannyjump,

Do you want to provide a link to that technote so that we can read exactly what you are referring to?

I believe it's on the internal arubapedia......on my TechNote/TOI page......it's on AFP for partners and on the general support site for customers.

Does the upgrade guide applies to upgrading Amigopod 3.9 to Clearpass 6.3?

Would you share the link with us, if there is?

Its does, in the sence of a save restore for a VM instance.

If you want to upgrade a H/W appliance we don't provide public information on how to do this, we mandate that this is done by a qualified Aruba Engineer and even then its contolled to a select number.

Please advise on your exact requirements?

To add:- the biggest part of this exercise is testing.... if you need to migrate a h/w apliance, we STRONGLY reccomend spinning a 6.x VM and performing a simple save restore as detialed in my guide at the above location.... then test test test.... once we migrate a h/w appliance its a total once-way-street.

    Danny,

I have a customer with an Amigopod appliance that I would like to get upgraded.  I think they barely use it really, so will be more of a case of building the Clearpass from scratch.

Is there normally a cost involved in getting a qualified Aruba engineer to do this upgrade?

    Thanks

Please work with your local Sales team and they can get you all the information on the upgrade and if the clients support is up to date.

    As Troy says......

Please work with you local partner/Aruba contact. The key will be if the box is still under support and how they want to migrate the AMG to CPPM.... licenses for Guest, Onboard etc. blah blah blah.

We will do the AMG->CPPM migration for free if they are still under support, if the support has expired and they can't use the box after an upgrade then its not worth migrating...!!

If you are stuggeling with finding an Aruba contact or specialist to help, reach out to me danny@aruabanetworks.com for assistance.
