I realize that for now only Windows 8 Surface Pro is supported by the Onboarding process because Pro can run .exe files. However, customers are starting to get RT versions which run apps only. When will Quick Connect be available for RT clients and available on the Windows App store?

Well..the issue is the API with RT.  It may be possible with 8.1 (hopefully more things will be possible with 8.1) but it's conjecture at this point.  Once 8.1 is released, we will update you on the OnBoard with RT possibility.  Until then, it's not supported.

    Hi Seth,

Any news on this since 8.1 has been released?

    Thanks,

    Alfredo

Anyone have an update on this?

Windows 8.1 has been out for a couple of months and we have customers asking about support for Onboarding the RT devices.

    Thanks

Yes, I would like to know when this will be supported as well. We have a number of clients rolling out Clearpass and none of their Windows Surface RT tablets accept the QuickConnect application exe, they download it and then it bombs out and says it cannot be run on this device.

Can someone from Aruba confirm when or if these will be supported? The Release notes for Clearpass 6.3.0 show a "fixed" issue for Surface devices as: "18612 - Onboard now correctly detects Windows RT devices as unsupported."

FANTASTIC, now they are correctly showing as "unsupported"???? Why not simply fix it so they ARE supported rather than spend time fixing a bug so that they show up correctly as unsupported???

    cturton,

Please speak to your local Aruba Sales team about this so you can get answers to your questions.  Windows RT is definitely not the same as Windows 8.1 so what was done for one probably cannot be ported to the other.  Your local Aruba sales team would be able to provide more clarity on this.
