How does the different channels works?

Hello there

I'm abit confused when it comes to the different channels there is.

If you take a look at "Monitoring > All Access Points" you will see these columns:

.bg Clients - .bg Channel - .bg HT Mode - .a Clients - .a Channel

Ok.

1. What is HT (High-throughput)? Whats the difference between using it on a .bg and not?

2. What's the difference between using .bg with HT and .a with HT?

3. Lets say we have an AP with .bg and .a activated, with HT on them both. We got a cliet with .bga, which channel will the client choose and why? (like an AP105 can manage).

4. Lets say we have an AP with .bg and .a activated, with HT on them both. We got a cliet with .bgn, which channel will the client choose and why? (like an AP105 can manage).

5. Lets say we have an AP with .bg and .a activated, but HT is only enabled on the .bg channel. We got a cliet with .bgan, which channel will the client choose and why? (like an AP105 can manage).

The reason why im askin is becuase we got a bunch of AP61 (.bga, only .bg enabled), we also got a bunch of AP105.
Clientside we have alot of DELL Latitude D620 with .bga standard, some DELL Latitude D531 with .bga and n-draft. And lastly we have a newer model, HP EliteBook 6360b with .bgn.
And since we replaced our AP61 with AP105 the signal has dropped really low...

- What are the driver dates?
- What encryption is in use?
- The devices that see a low signal, what band are they connected to?
