Expanding our portfolio with 3 new 802.11ac APs and new Controller

While you may not be happy that Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter on Groundhog Day this year, we do have some new datasheets to read and products to help you with your winter planning for your 802.11ac deployments. This month we introduced 3 new 802.11ac APs and a new Controller to expand our portfolio, helping you to rightsize your mobility network.

Many of you have been deploying the 270 Series outdoor 802.11ac products to extend campus coverage around your buildings and in public spaces but one of the challenges you have been expressing is the desire for a third model with integrated directional antennas, to complement the AP-275 (integrated omni-directional antennas) and AP-274 (external antenna connectors). With the new Aruba 277 (datasheet), now you have an option that is great for mounting to the exterior of your buildings to provide coverage radiating outwards.

With the success we have seen in rolling out robust Gigabit Wi-Fi for large public venues (LPV) such as the San Francisco 49ers Levi's Stadium (view webinar), not all stadiums have our moderate Nor-Cal weather so we designed the new Aruba 228 (datasheet) rugged indoor 802.11ac AP for extreme temperatures such as stadiums, warehouses and refrigerated areas.

While the 802.11n AP-93H and AP-103H have been hugely successful in our hospitality deployments and dormitories, many customers have been looking for an 802.11ac AP wall-mount solution from Aruba and that's where the new Aruba 205H (datasheet) delivers. If you are looking to upgrade to Gigabit Wi-Fi to meet the growing multimedia and device demands of #GenMobile, look no further than the Aruba 205H. It is also unique in that there is also an optional desk stand kit available that enables you to convert this product to a Remote AP for your home and small office locations.

Finally, in order to power the industry's best performing 802.11ac portfolio, that now consists of 11 AP models, we have expanded our Campus controller family with a new model. The Aruba 7205 Mobility Controller (datasheet) is well suited for smaller campus offices that don't need the redundant power options of the larger 7210/7220/7240 controllers and need to support up to 256 APs.

These new products are available for ordering today from your Aruba Networks partner and will start shipping soon so get your orders in.

Hello, I notice that the 7205 controller minimum OS is 6.4.3 however it is not posted on the site. Would you happen to have an estimated date for the FIPS software release.
