Principal Network Engineer (TAC)

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Network Engineer who wants to be a part of a fast-paced and challenging environment. Our ideal candidate will provide escalation-level support for the deployment and maintenance of Aruba products. This position reports into the customer advocacy organization and requires a person with in-depth understanding of complex enterprise network deployment models and strong troubleshooting skills.

 

Responsibilities:

Providing pre and post sales technical support to the sales teams, customers and partners for various technologies and solutions related to Aruba products

Formulate technical action plans for analyzing and resolving problems related to the Aruba deployment

Generate documentation in the form of case notes, tech tips, best practices, RCA reports, case reviews

Work on complex problems requiring in-depth fault analysis and troubleshooting

Simulate customer issues in lab to enable developers to debug and fix bugs if any

Participate in solutions for knowledge base

Provide technical cross-training to relevant groups as needed

Participate in serviceability enhancement requirement reviews

Work effectively in a team environment including colleagues, QA and development engineers, and the Aruba field organization

Occasionally required to travel to customer sites for troubleshooting, training purposes, business reviews

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

 

Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering

5+ year experience in customer facing Technical Support, preferably with 2+ years in  TAC Escalation Role – supporting enterprise class networking products with advanced expertise in network switching, routing and security

 

Preferred Skills:

Must be a flexible self-starter who can ramp up with new technologies quickly and can adapt to a growing and evolving team

Strong work ethics and a “can-do/will do” attitude

Comprehensive understanding of networking technology and the ability to quickly acquire deep technical knowledge

Strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies

Strong organizational and time management skills

Must be customer focused and have the ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills, and ability to confidently engage with the customer staff at all levels

Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced environment towards set business goals and objectives

Well recognized industry certification like CCNA/CCNP is required, CCIE/CWNP preferred

Understanding of 802.11 and other wireless technologies is highly desirable but not mandatory

Experience with design and implementation of Aruba Networks products and solutions and ACMP, ACMX or ACDX certifications is an added bonus
