I would like to check whether 2540 with Virtual Stack can form LACP with uplink switch with 1 uplink from each switch?

     core switch

      |             | (LACP)

    2540 ==2540 (Virtual Stack using 1x 1G Ethernet port and 1x 10G SFP+ port)

Aruba 2540 doesn't support virtual stacking, does it?

So the question is really about a no-go scenario.

OTOH if you have two (or more) stacked switches (two with VSF or more with backplane stacking) this means that the stack fabric forms a virtual switch, in that case no issue are there about implementing a LACP Port Trunking from a thrid device (Core in your diagram) which terminates into various members of the stack (let's say LACP link 1 to Member 1 and LACP link 2 to member 2, just to be clear).

The 2530 did support virtual stacking, but this is not the stacking like VSF or backplane stacking.

In the manual of the 2530 (located here: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5333803&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c04943200) it states the following:

Stacking enables you to use a single IP address and standard network cabling to manage a group of up to 16 total switches in the same IP subnet (broadcast domain).

So its mainly for management.

We are speaking about Aruba 2540, not about Aurba 2530...so I don't understand why you cited Aruba 2530 with regard to the OP question above.

Mate, Yes, specifically speaking about Aruba 2530...it doesn't support any Virtual Switching feature (nor VSF Virtual Switching Framework through frontplane standard ports neither backplane stacking through dedicated hardware Stacking Modules/Cables)...but that's out-of-the-question on this thread.

Well, it won't be exactly the same thing (indeed Virtual Switching lets you to avoid loops since two devices act as a single logical switch, thus loops and you can go from Virtual Switch fabric to core with LAGs...exactly as per your schematic drawing) but, if it's OK for you, it's OK for all of us!
