    Dear community,

    today I created a job on an Aruba 2920-48G-PoE+ (J9836A) firmware version WB.16.02.0022m, which should perform a daily cable diagnosis on certain ports.

     

    job run-cable-test at 15:15 on mo,th,we,tu,fr,sa,su "test cable-diagnostics 38-42"

    During the execution of this job, the switch restarted.

    Could it be a bug or is the "test cable-diagnostics" command simply not suitable for use in a job?

    I have just tested the job on a fresh 2540 48G PoE+ 4SFP+ (JL357A) firmware YC.16.02.0012.
    The behavior is identical, the switch restarts after the command has been executed.
    "Test cable-diagnostics" simply does not seem to be suitable for use in a job, too bad.

    Hi!

     

    I've validated this exact same behavior in our lab on that exact same build of YC.16.02.0012 using a 2540.  However, it works fine with YC.16.06.0006.  

     

    It looks like according to the 16.03 release notes, there was a similar issue and it was fixed then.  I would recommend updating your firmware to 16.03 or later.

    We will investigate getting this fixed for the 16.02 train of code.
