Hi all, I'm new to Aruba environment and on learning side. Below is the issue we face every day in the morning. Issue: Aruba AP-315 is frequently getting rebooted only when the users were Connected to the AP's in the floor. AP connected to HP 1920 POE+ and it connected interface flaps frequently and Have collected the crash info logs and it says - Kernel panic - not syncing: Rebooting the AP because of FW ASSERT. If someone face same issue and has a solution on this, help me to resolve the issue. Attached Crash-info is collection of 4 AP on Same Floor running ArubaOS (MODEL: 315), Version 6.5.1.0-4.3.1.0. Notify me if some other information required.

Hi Joseph, Now, we are upgraded to recommended version 6.5.1.0 rel 4.3.1.3. However, we still have the same type of error observing in the Crash logs. Sometimes, users were being frequently disconnected and joining and it is being big headache for us. Please guide us to rectify the issue.

You should definitely open a TAC case so that they can get your logs.

    Hi Premkumar,

Just curious to see if you had ever resolved this issue. I'm having the same issue with the AP-315 on my network. I've tried to two different AP's both on an Aruba PoE+ switch. I'm finding when more than 30 or so clients connect, the AP goes amber then reboots. We are on AOS 6.5.2.1.

Did you resolve your issue? I just had an AP-315 crash with the code FW ASSERT

We have not. We are still trying to narrow down the issue.

We've been trying the same troubled AP in a different building on a completely different switch. It's now in a classroom with a similar load between 20-40 clients on at a time.  We have had no reports of issues.

Next, we will be checking out the run and switch in the original spot.

This is the problem we are having. We found it through AirWave/System/Event
Logs. Nothing in the controller's log..

Has anyone opened a TAC case about this?  We need to find out if this is already resolved or a new issue.  Please open a TAC case, if you have not already.

I opened one yesterday. I just sent them sh log all, sh ap database, sh ap
bss-table and sh log error log files this morning. We've had students
complaining about getting disconnected all semester and we figured it out
    through AirWave

    Hi,

I had the same issue reported and got it solved after upgrading to code 6.5.3.1

    Reason for the abnornal reboot

    1. The AP crash is due to the fact that client was sending an incorrect ADDBA response which was not getting handled correctly.
    2. The fw core files were not getting saved correctly.

Both of these issues have been root caused & addressed in release 6.5.3.1.

    Regards,

    Lokesh
