Jun 26, 2014 08:21 AM

This articles applies to Aruba Mobility Access Switches running AOS version 7.3.0.0

The Mobility Access Switch can read and write files to an attached USB drive which can be used to upgrade software images or configurations files and also backup configurations or stored files on the local flash.

Copying Files to USB :

(host)#copy startup-config <filename> [member: <id>] usb: <filename> [usbpartition <number>]

(host)#copy running-config <filename> [member: <id>] usb: <filename> [usbpartition <number>]

Sample output :

(ArubaS2500-24P) #copy startup-config usb: startup211113.config
startup-config copied successfully

(ArubaS2500-24P) #copy running-config usb: running211113.config
....
File copied Successfully

Viewing the USB Directory :

To display the USB content of the members:
(host) #dir member <id> usb:

To display the usb content of local member at one directory level:

(host) #dir usb:

(ArubaS2500-24P) #dir usb
Partition ID: 0
Partition Not mounted
Partition ID: 1

-rwxr-xr-x    1 root     root         5271 Nov 20 13:33 running211113.config

NOTE :-  Aruba supports write to USB as an additional feature in AOS 7.3 , AOS Version 7.2 supported reading from USB.
