How do I view Port errors and how do I recover those Ports manually on Aruba Mobility access switch?

Jul 11, 2014 05:08 PM

A  port is automatically  placed in a any of the following error state by the switch because of an error condition that is encountered on the port.

  • Drop

  • Log

  • Shutdown

Based on the configuration the traffic can be either Dropped , Logged or the port can be Shutdown  and When a port is in error state Shutdown, it is effectively shut down and no traffic is sent or received on that port. You can apply auto-recovery-time option only if the action is shutdown

The port can be reactivated after the configured time by configuring the auto-recovery option or can be recovered manually.

Environment: This articles applies to Aruba Mobility Access Switches running AOS version 7.1.3.0 and above.

Viewing Port Errors

Use the following command to view the list of ports that are detected with port errors and the time at which they will
be recovered automatically, if auto-recovery is enabled:

(host) #show port-error-recovery

Recovering Ports Manually

host) #clear port-error-recovery interface <interface-name>

The following command clears the errors on gigabitethernet 0/0/42:
(host) #clear port-error-recovery interface gigabitethernet 0/0/42

To clear the port errors on all interfaces execute the following command:
(host) #clear port-error-recovery

Note :-   The maximum value for auto-recovery-time for all the port security functionalities is 65535 seconds.
