I was wondering if VSF is available in the Aruba 2930F switch.

The only configuration guide I can find is based on the 5400 series and the commands in that guide are not understood by the 2930F.

When I take a look at the datasheet VSF is one of the key features.

    Who can clarify?

    Thanks!

Looking at this document it states:

Currently 2930F does not support stacking (as of Ver 16.02.0012) however stacking with the use of VSF is on the roadmap for end of year 2016 or early 2017. The limitation with VSF stacking will be the port capabilities and maximum support of up to 4 devices in a single stack.

I'm not sure its been implemented yet. Might be worth checking the lastest firmware release notes..

    Hi Arvid,

The 16.03 ArubaOS-Switch software update will be available to customers the middle of January, enabling VSF stacking on the 2930F.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Thanks,

    Justin

ArubaOS-Switch software version 16.03 is now available on the My Networking software portal.
This supports Virtual Stacking Framework on the 2930F fixed access switches and allows stacking up to 4 members on both 1G and 10G links.

Follow this 2 step procedure with defaulted switches to configure.

    Step 1:
      • Add ports to the VSF link on 1st switch - Enable VSF and assign a domain
      • (config)# vsf member 1 link 1 1/24
      • (config)# vsf enable domain 1
      • (config)# vsf port-speed 1g (optional)

    Step 2:
      • Verify 2nd switch has a factory-default configuration and connect 2nd switch to the VSF port on 1st switch
      • 2nd switch will automatically enable VSF and add the connected port to the VSF link
