Good afternoon! I want to know, how can stack (Virtual Stacking) 16 switches of the series 2530. In the product bulletin says the following.

Here you can found the info about virtual stacking.

    http://www.hp.com/rnd/device_help/help/hpwnd/webhelp/HPJ4813A/configuration_stacking.htm

I don't think that the 'real'stacking is going to be coming to the 2530 series. With real stacking i mean the stacking like IRF of VSF.

    Cheers

Here's also the latest from the Advanced Traffic Management guide for the Aruba 2530 similar to the doc posted above (Virtual Stacking starts on pg 241):

    http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5333803&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c04943200

As mrzero stated, it is not like backplane stacking on the Aruba 3810 or Virtual Switching Framework (VSF) on the Aruba 5400R modular switch.

    Hello...

I know this subject has already seen some days since last reply, but we got a bunch of HP 2530-48G-PoEP Switch (J9772A) and have the newest firmware YA.16.09.0001, ROM YA.15.20 installed.

And these switches get advertiszed with Virtual stacking...

Does anyone use those or similar switches in the 2530 family and can tell if the menawhile some advanced firmwares do actually offer VFS or any way to trick/mod them to that?

We would like to do a mesh stacking so that they are all interlinked with each otehr to compensate outages and only have to deal with one IP address...

    THX!!!

    Hi

Sorry no VSF on the 2530/2540 platform afaik. The minimal required model for VSF is 2930.

Hello and thx for the fast reply...

Is that also limiting me to the serail regular stacking or do you know a way to get them connected with more than one cable without braking the connection?
