What OS is on an Aruba 2920

    So we recently received our first Aruba 2920 switches because we were told that the MAS 2500/3500 switches are going end-of-sale. 

     

    Anyways, I am trying to figure out what OS/software/firmware I should be flashing these with to get the current? They shipped with the apparent software version WB.15.15.0012. Am I supposed to put ArubaOS on them? What version? If I need to use HP firmware...where do I get that from?

    They run ArubaOS-Switch. The latest is 16.02 and can be acquired at hpe.com.

    Good day! May I know how to determine what OS version such ArubaOS6 or ArubaOS8 is running on the switches.

    KenP you can either use the web interface, if the switch is online already, or get into the CLI of the switch and run a "show version" to get the current version number.

    Hi,

     

    This is the current version of our Switch 5406 WB.16.03.0004, I would like to understand if this is running ArubaOS 6 or 8 or how to differentiate. There's ddos issues on some aruba os6 that's why i want to know if our networks are affected, we have a lot of aruba switches here.

    To elaborate a bit, the ArubaOS-Switch operating system is based on the HP ProVision OS (as the Aruba 2920 is a rebranded HP Networking switch). It is not based on Aruba MAS code.

    Aruba switches run ArubaOS-Switch code. Completely different than ArubaOS controller code.
