How to enable and verify port mirroring on Aruba Sobility Access switch.

Aruba Employee
Requirement:

This requires a Mobility access switch running Aruba OS 7.4 and higher.

Solution:

We can configure port mirroring on Aruba Switches using mirroring profile. In the example below, we will mirror traffic from G 3/0/8 to the port G 3/0/18.

Configuration:

First we will create a mirroring profile. this profile contains the destination port:

(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (config) #interface-profile mirroring-profile AP-mirror
(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (Mirroring profile "AP-mirror") #destination gigabitethernet 3/0/18
(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (Mirroring profile "AP-mirror") #exit

Next we will map it to a source port. Here we will mirror both ingress and egress traffic:

(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (config) #interface gigabitethernet 0/0/8
(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (gigabitethernet "0/0/8") #mirroring-in-profile AP-mirror
(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (gigabitethernet "0/0/8") #mirroring-out-profile AP-mirror
(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (gigabitethernet "0/0/8") #exit

Verification

We can verify it by the command below:

(ArubaS3500-24P-US) (config) #show mirroring
Mirroring Profile Name : AP-mirror
Mirroring Ratio : 1
Mirroring Destination : GE3/0/18
Ingress mirrored ports : GE3/0/8
Egress mirrored ports : GE3/0/8
