300 series AP signal strength issue

Good morning fellow Airheads,

We have replaced aging 115 Access points with 315 Access points in a Mobility controller based environment, but we are suddenly unindated by user complaints regarding weak wifi signal.

The RF settings were not changed, but we have found with site visits that the signal is far worse than recorded with the 115s. The controller also reports the APs broadcasting at maximum, where the 115s still had some headroom.

Any suggestions or maybe same issues experienced?

Re: 300 series AP signal strength issue

- What kind of environment is this? (warehouse, classroom, office space)?

- How are the access points mounted? (what are they attached to, and how high off the ground)

- What is the transmit power on your access points on the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band?

- What kind of clients are in use?
