I want to understand the licensing of 3400 Mobility Controller

    We have 144 AP licenses

On the controller it shows AP usage for CAP is 11 and for RAP is 40. Remaining AP capacity is 43 for CAP's and 93 for RAP's.

I am not able to understand how the remaining capacity no.'s have come up.

    Thanks,

    Mahesh Shirke

This is not correct. 1 AP, regardless of type, consumes 1 AP license.

In terms of capacity the 3000 series can manage 4 times as many RAP as CAP.

Mahesh - For a 3000 series, the controller AP capacity must be:  (CAP + (RAP/4)) <= CAP Limit of Controller.

Something I will like to add from what I learned

Total AP used = CAP usage + RAP usage

Remaining RAP capacity = No. of AP License or RAP capacity of controller (whichever is lower) - Total AP used

Remaining CAP capacity = No. of AP License or CAP capacity of controller (whichever is lower) - [CAP usage + RAP usage/4]

I hope I am correct with this.

    Thanks
