    Hi,

I have a customer report that on their Guest network, Macbook Pro and Air are struggling to bring up the captive portal.  iPad and iPhone are not affected or any other device type.

They get an ip in the correct range, but often it won't bring the portal up.  Apparently after deleting the profile several times and reconfiguring, it will work.  When they connect to another company's guest network (non Aruba), it shows that portal straight away.

Has anyone else experienced these issues with this version?  Anything in particular with regards to Macbooks that I should be aware of?

I asked the customer to put 1.1.1.1 in the browser and it still didn't come up, so not sure what to suggest to them.

    Thanks

What profile are they deleting?  There isn't anything necissarily that is known about OS X.  More info is needed here.

    Here is what they've said

"I have an issue whereby mac users really struggle to get connected to our guest wireless network. It takes numerous reboots, turning off and on the airport on their device, deleting the certificate from keychain access before it will finally automatically display the login portal.  From what I have seen it happens on various different versions of Mac OS."

I'm still waiting for more info from them, but unfortunately troubleshooting will be limited.

If you are using SSL, are you allowing OCSP requests through in your initial role?

This tech-tip https://arubanetworkskb.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/HowTo/R-1680 seems to be for IOS devices. is the same applicable for MAC OS X as well?

The customer has put the acl in and everything is fine now.

But will be broken soon once iOS 7 devices start showing up.

If you have support you can upgrade to 6.3.1 which is having an option to bypass Apple CNA under the Captive Portal Profile settings now which i think works with all iOSs.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but they can't upgrade right now cause it is a non-XM 3200 controller.

Can you list those sites please in here for others to see as well please?

Below are the ones i'm using with HP controllers to solve this and they work perfectly,

     www.ibook.info

    www.itools.info
    www.airport.us
    www.thinkdifferent.us
    captive.apple.com
    www.appleiphonecell.com

If you browse any of these website  you will only get "sucess"  in the page :) apple's way lol
