    Hi all

I am facing an issue with my controllers in HA any changes in one controller is not being duplicated to other ie: data not synchronizing .

    Please suggest any remedy

    thanks in advance

Are these in Master/Master Standby? Do you have database sync enabled?

    #show database synchronize

If these are Master/Local, are the IPSEC tunnels formed between them?

    (On Master)
    #show switches

Don't forget that not all changes (such as VLAN's, DHCP, IP etc) are not sync'd between controllers.

    Hi Zalion

Thanks for your reply, but tell me one change which i can perform and data will synchronize.

    (TEST1) #show database synchronize

Last synchronization time: Not synchronized since last reboot

Periodic synchronization is enabled and runs every 5 minutes
Synchronization doesn't include Captive Portal Custom data

Is your deployment Master/Master Backup, as the show database sync is relevant. If you wish to complete a manual database sync then perform the following

    #database synchronize

If you wish for this to happen automatically:

    (Aruba620) #configure terminal
Enter Configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z

    (Aruba620) (config) #database synchronize ?
captive-portal-custom Include custom captive portal files
period Periodic synchronization with standby (Master-Master
                            Communication)

But again this is only for a Master/Master Backup deployment....

Please find the running config for both controllers, might be HA is not configured properly.

I can't access the attachments at the moment, can you please provide the output of the following on each controller.

    #show roleinfo
    #show switches

Both servers are masters, so they are islands and will not synchronize anything.

You have to configure the second controller as a local or a backup master for redundancy.  A local controller will allow you to have access points on both controllers at the same time.  A backup master will only allow you to use one controller and the second controller will backup the first.

Am unsure whether you want Master - Master Backup or Master-Local design, but you have not configure either one.

    For Master-Master Backup:

    https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_63_Web_Help/Content/ArubaFrameStyles/VRRP/Redundancy_Parameters.htm

For Maste-Local there are multiple examples on this foro and on the Internet.

At the moment you have 2 independent devices.

I agree both controller running on master mode but first of all i'm explain you the network scenario.

we have Total 538 AP but we have 500 ap license for one controller which means 500+ 500=1000 AP license for two controller.

so we planned 269 ap deploy on 1st controller and 269 ap deploy to 2nd

controller but we want when 1st or 2nd controller goes down so rest of the AP switch to active controller and only 38 AP goes down not for the 269.

Also we want all the data synchronize to each other

kinldy tell me both controller configured on which mode.?

In that case you can configure it as Master-Local where both controllers can serve AP’s. You will need to create ap-groups pointing to controllers.

However, as you said, your scenario will not be fully redundant and you cannot choose which AP’s will be down.

I’d add an additional controller to have a fully redundant network.

    Hi,

Please check the VRD, it explains very well how to create a master-local scenario.

    Hi,

Can you provide the remort support..?

I cannot provide remote support, but I can give advice on this forum.

If you have a support contract, you can contact technical support here:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/support-services/contact-support/

or you could contact your local Aruba Sales Team for advice.

    Ok.

Based on the info you gave us, you would have to in general:

    1 - Configure your Controllers as a master/local pair

2 - Configure a VRRP between those controllers

3 - Configure discovery for your access points and point them to the VRRP between your controllers

If you have two controllers and have 530 access points, how are they discovering the individual controllers now?

Is this your post as well? http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Wireless-Access/AP-NOT-JOINING-TO-7720-CONTROLLER/m-p/443650#M82429

If that is the case, you need some specific design help, because merging two controllers into one and getting all of your access points to discover two different controllers on a different subnet will require decisions, planning and downtime.  Do you have a local Aruba SE or Aruba VAR/Reseller that you can contact?
