Since upgrading our m3 to 6.4.2.5 ios devices are really slow to connect to the wifi sometimes not connecting at all.

Is this something other users have seen? Is this realated to WiFried?

    Thanks,

    Yann

    Hi Yann,

Is this PSK or dot1x ? Assuming it's not related to DHCP, then we can check the following:

    Please collect the following:

show aaa authentication dot1x <profile> | include Delay

    show dot1x counter

show auth-tracebuf mac <themac> (when the issue has happened)

note that for the auth-tracebuf you may need to enable per user debugging first to filter the tracebuf so it doesn't roll over so quickly,  i.e. logging level debugging user-debug <mac>

    regards

    Thanks jgoff,

Looks like it is realated to DHCP looking through the logs I found this error repeated many times:

    Mar 23 14:41:30 :299801:  <DBUG> |dhcpd|  write_lease: Lease file grew too big, rewriting DHCPv4 lease file

Can I increase the size of the lease file or should I start looking to offload DHCP to a helper server?

    hi Yann,

controller DHCP capabilites are somewhat limited, it is generally preferable to use an external DHCP server for client IP address allocations

    Thanks Jeff,

I will roll back for now and figure out a way to accomplish DHCP in a better way.
