AP-105 as AirMonitor in 802.11ac deployment ?

We started our migration to 802.11ac.

Can I use the retired AP-105s as AirMonitors in our 802.11ac zones ?

Is so, what would be the limitations ?

TIA

the limitation would be that the air monitor will not be able to see this higher channel bandwidth data. you will be limited to 20mhz and 40 MHz only. for basic rogue detection it will be fine.
it will also work just fine as a spectrum monitor

Re: AP-105 as AirMonitor in 802.11ac deployment ?

I'd like to ask about using a 205 as an AirMonitor when there are 3xx AP's deployed.   Can a 205 be a suitable AM?   3xx wave 2 AP can do wider 160mh channels and MU-MIMO... I assume this could be an issue meaning the wider channel traffic cannot be properly observed by the 205.  I am also concerned that perhaps MU-MIMO traffic might be misinterpretted in some way?   Can i get some feedback on Aruba's take on this?  Thank you

Since this is not related to the AP-105 as the title suggests, it should be in a new thread for easier searching.

The AP205 would be a better fit than the AP105. Ultimately, it depends on the types of incidents you are trying to protect against.
