AP-125 - making the second port work for pass thru

Hi, just plugged a 125 in and wanted to connect a network printer to it. The link light is on during boot up but then goes aout. Tried the other and tried a desktop PC, is there a profile that needs editing for this? We normally use AP61, 65 and 105s.

Thanks (latest v5 firmware platform)

Re: AP-125 - making the second port work for pass thru

If I understood correct, you are trying to use the enet1 port to connect the Network printer.

1. Is the enet1 LED truns ON ?

2. How the AP is powered, POE or direct power supply ?

You can use the below link to enable the enet 1 port, If you need any authentication on the port, please make this port untrusted and add required AAA profile.

ap wired-ap-profile "NW-Printer"
  wired-ap-enable
  switchport access vlan <vlan>

ap wired-port-profile "NW-printer"
  wired-ap-profile "NW-Printer"

ap-group <Ap-group name>

  enet1-port-profile "NW-printer"

Re: AP-125 - making the second port work for pass thru

Hi, I'm using the GUI! How would I do this? I am using a PoE brick for the AP, the AP just needs to pass thru the traffic. Its running as a remote AP. Thanks!

Are you able to console into the AP? I'm guessing the PoE injector you are using doesn't have enough power to keep eth1 going. You would see eth1 going down on the console of the AP if this is the case.

Configuration >> AP Configuration >> Click Edit on the AP group
See the attached screen shot.

See Chapter 9 (Table 27 and 28) in 802.11n VRD

Re: AP-125 - making the second port work for pass thru

Hi, thanks for all help, the printer is mains powered, the light does come on, but goes out once the AP radio's come on. I seem to have BRIDGE showing, also VLAN 1. Its a local Remote AP doing a global SSID (tunnelled) and local breakout for the site. I want the printer to be on the remote breakout for the site. The AP is set for always on bridges. Thanks.

The power for the access point needs to be high-powered POE, NOT the printer!
