Wireless Access

Hi All,

Would like to check if i am missing out anything, have loaded AOS8 on a 7005, AP used is AP277.

Have sufficient AP licenses, WLAN configured with AP group assigned with a SSID.
Am able to see the assess point online, but the SSID set is not seen.

How are you powering that access point?  The AP-277 requires high powered (802.3at) POE.  Type show ap tech-support ap-name <name of ap> | begin "Power Status"  on the commandline of the controller.  You would typically need a power injector or if this is poe, you would need to have LLDP enabled on the switchport for the AP to negotiate higher power.

Also type "show ap database" to see if the access point has flags.

i believe the required power of 277 will require 27 watts thereabouts, am powering up using a brocade switch on POE+ , have assigned 30 W of power.

Please type

show ap tech-support ap-name <name of ap> | begin "Power Status"

That will show you what power the access point thinks it is getting.

show ap tech-support ap-name <name of ap> | begin "Power Status"

this will churn out a whole list of information instead of a single liner? as am not able to identify the amount of power its getting.

Then you need to type "show ap database" to see if your AP has any flags.

It states unlicensed, but none of our eval licenses have been consumed yet.

Type "show keys" to see the number of licenses you have.

The eval licenses were input into the mobility controller, but upon retrieving of the command apparantly there were no licenses?

do note the current OS is AOS8

have updated they keys and they are happily inside, but still no ssid, will try to reboot ap.

it is working now, would conclude license issue. Thanks joseph.
