I have an aruba AP-375 outdoors.

The spec sheet says it will do wireless mesh.

    https://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/ds/DS_AP370Series.pdf

I want to connect two Nanostation 5m access points to the AP-375.

    https://www.ubnt.com/airmax/nanostationm/

I just want to make sure the point-to multipoint/wireless mesh will work on the Aruba side. I know how to configure the UBNT side.

    Thanks!

According to Ubiquiti's datasheet here: https://dl.ubnt.com/datasheets/nanostationm/nsm_ds_web.pdf The nanostationm is not an 802.11 compliant device.

"Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti’s Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller"

If the Nanostationm is not using standard wifi protocols, it will not interoperate with the AP-375.

    Thanks.

But how do I do Mesh then with Aruba. You got rid of your mesh product line. I have two AP-375 at a outdoor stadium. I have a few cameras I want to mount on poles and I need a mesh ap. I am not going to spend the money for more AP-375 to do MESH simply to connect one device.

    Any suggestions?

Mesh is supported on both our controller and Instant product solutions.

Any of our current outdoor APs should work for your use-case of connecting wired cameras back via the wireless network.

If it's a single camera at a location, a 3rd party Wifi bridge could also be used to connect the wired camera to the wireless SSID. The reason the Ubiquiti model you mentioned is not an option is because it uses proprietary mechanisms unique to Ubiquiti, it does not use standard 802.11 Wifi (according to the datasheet I found).

This model appears to be 802.11 compliant.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not up on the Ubiquiti products in general to be able to make a recommendation, but that datasheet at least does not call out that they are using non-wifi technologies. I'm not familiar with what their UniFi® Mesh Technology encompasses, and whether there's a dependency on both sides of the link being Ubiquiti or not. In general, most vendors' mesh implementations are not interoperable.

If that AP can act as a wifi client, then it should be able to connect.
