Should the AP-ANT-38 with the IAP-224 be setup for cross or co-polarization? I can't find anything in the documentation.

 Additionally, what should the antenna gain be set to?

Gain should be set to 7.5dBi. The antenna has 3 elements integrated in to the unit itself, and is already polarized (+45 / V / -45)

I'm on firmware 6.5.3.1. I've set the gain with the CLI but it only shows in the CLI, not the GUI. When setting in the GUI, it continues to show as zero:

I have tried in multiple browsers.

Ah, that's new, chose cross polarization. Not sure about the zero for gain, but the CLI is likley more reputable. I will see if anyone on my team has a 6.5.3.1 IAP with external connectors and if they see the same behavior.

Is AP-ANT-35A also cross polarization ?

Also my webgui shows 0 all the time regardsless of reboot or not. And my cli shows the value I input, in this case 5.0

Any way to get an official answer on this ? Wich antennas to choose cross for and wich to choose co for ? Very confusing to introduce a new option in the GUI and not in any documentation on the antennas.

All Aruba panel antennas are cross-polarized. All others are co.

Maybe aruba should clarify this more in documentation, I asked around and nobody seems to know 100%.

How does this indicate cross- or co-polarization?

Co-polarization would require all antennas to have the same orientation.

Sorry, In your early post, you said "All Aruba panel antennas are cross-polarized. All others are co."

But same orientation type is panel anteena, maybe I am wrong?

What I think he meant is the panel antenna is built of three different antenna elements with different polarization.This is why Aruba refer to them as cross polarized instead of if you use three identical dipole antennas, which they refer to as co-polarized.

Good thread. For clarification, with respect to selecting appropriate "External Antenna Polarization" parameter for each frequency, if the antenna used is from Aruba we should select "1-Cross-Polarized"? (pic attached)

Running AOS 6.5.x now, recently upgraded from AOS 6.4.x. In 6.4 there there was no such parameter. The default appears to be "0-CO-Polarized".

We have thousands of AP-324s deployed. Most use the 1W antennas. believe the antenna orientation is 45 degrees away from the AP.

ANT-1W (direct mount omni dipoles) should be oriented vertically and all parallel, to provide matching coverage patterns.

Yes understood! We're aware of that and are working to hopefully correct it. I'm more interested in knowing the correct setting of "External Antenna Polarization".

Same question with ant-16, what we should use :  cross or co-polarization in GUI ? 

Multiple parallel oriented ANT-1W antennas are co-polarized.

Same is true for the elements in ANT-16.
