We are looking to redo our AP naming convention and I was wondering what othe people are doing for AP naming convention

For example one of our possible naming conventions is

    Site_ID-Floor-Role (AP Regular AP/AM Monitor Mode)/AP Number -last_2_digits_MAC

    For example

    100Younge-12W-AP2-00E0

    What do other people do?

    Thanks

Your example is fine. Name has to make sense to you and your team, but here are some example of names I used for my customers:

    F1-AP1  F1 being floor one

    AP1-Engineering-south

    AP17_BREAKROOM

    1stFloor_AP1_2d:a0

I'm sure the folks here can also add thier input.

    Hope this helps.

We use siteID-### and remember to look at VisualRF (in Airwave) or a copy of the as-built to tell where they're supposed to be.

    something like: 091-ap001 and 087-ap124
