    Hi All

Looking for some guidance for covering a range of 50 to 100 meters for AP204. Which directional antenna should i choose and why?

Also is there a guide that i can calculate distance using each antenna values such as H Plane E Plane etc.

    Thanks

    Mahathma

Is this for client coverage or a point to point link?

Is this for indoor or outdoor?

The ordering guide for the 200 series here:  http://www.arubanetworks.com/assets/og/OG_AP-200Series.pdf shows 3 indoor/outdoor antennas:

The ap-ant-25a and the ap-ant-28 are the only two directional choices:

Please know that it could be difficult depending on the client to propagate wifi for a client that far, because the client radio might not be able to answer reliably or there could be significant interference between the client and the AP.  You might have to look into an alternate solution to provide coverage for that client.

    Just for add.

    important to know :

the Passive Gain of Antenna is bidirectional, but Tx Active gain (Tranceiver) is unidirectionnal. So the better choice , is always choose a low power tx for a middle passive gain antenna.

exemple for a 7.5 dBi gain antenna (like ANT-28) use a tx power max at 10dB for client coverage to be sure to have a good biderectionnal communication.

And always do a survey to validate ;-)
