AP has just come out of the box with only a power injector providing PoE, it is not currently connected to a switch.

Any ideas on this please? I'd expect these commands to work.

Cheers

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

What are you trying to do? You already have a controller online? The AP is getting DHCP and has a way to discover the controller?

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

Hi Jerrod,

Thanks for the quick reply - I want to give it a static IP address and Master controller IP address.

But that's not the point, a simple 'printenv' is not giving the AP config - Why??

Many thanks,

Shaun

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

when you issue a 'factory reset' (or 'factory default', I can't remember), as well as a 'clear os' what is the output? May have to reach out to TAC...

Exactly the same unfortuantley - Have you seen this before? I'll get in touch with TAC.

Many thanks,

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

I have another AP 274 unboxed - I am using them for a Mesh. The same is happening on the second one too.

What are the chances of this happening to two different AP 274s? Or am I being a numpty and it needs to talk to a controller first before those commands become active?

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

trying printenv should display regardless of if it's new or not. 'clear os' (with the space) should wipe the current OS. I can't remember if it's factory_default, factory reset, etc (you should be able to do factory ?).

That it's both seems odd and very unlikely...am wondering if it's the serial connection not sending the right strings like it should. You have the driver from the support site, through a regular USB port and cable? What is the computer, host os, and software used?

The list of all ap env commands are pasted below

######

General Variables:
setenv ipaddr x.x.x.x
setenv netmask x.x.x.x
setenv gatewayip x.x.x.x
setenv master x.x.x.x
setenv serverip x.x.x.x
setenv location b.f.l
setenv group xxxxxx
setenv name xxxxx

Required without DNS or option 43:

setenv master
setenv serverip

Required without DHCP:

setenv ipaddr
setenv netmask
setenv gatewayip

Optional:

setenv dnsip
setenv group xxxxxx

printenv
setenv
save
purge
reset
ping
boot
version
clear os
upgrade
tftpboot
dhcp

Re: AP274 AP Boot Command Problem

Ok fixed it - Very simple too :)

My Surface needed a restart after installing the USB driver - All is now Ok after the restart and I can see all AP boot commands.

Thanks for your help Jerrod in isolating this.

Many thanks,

Shaun
