    Hello,

I have purchased from a company which went bancrupt one APIN0205. I do NOT have a controller, and I want to use it as a standalone AP.

I did a factory reset, the device gets an IP from my DHCP server, and I can ping it, but I cannot enter in.

I made a console cable, and I have control.

I have done the follwoing on the command line for a factory reset:

    factory_reset

    purgeenv

    save

    boot

Now the AP boots up, gets and IP and netmask from my DHCP server and it continues to search for the controller using ADP. After a while, it gives up and reboots.

Does anyone know how to conifgure it on the console level to have the device not to look for the controller? In other words, how can I enter its GUI, without the controller?

I looked in a lot of communities but it was not mentioned anywhere this procedure.

    Thanks for replying.

What is the exact model number on the back? (It should be either AP-205 or
    IAP-205 on a white sticker)

It seems that it is a rebranded Aruba AP205 for Alcatel Lucent (there is a sticker on the front of the AP by Alcatel Lucent).

On the back I see the following:

    Aruba Networks, Inc

    Model: APIN0205

    IC: 4675A-APIN0204205

    CMIIT IS: 2014AJ2181

    Plus some other technical numbers.

You need a controller for that AP.

So without a controller it is not possible to convert it into a standalone AP?

Is there an emulator or a real software controller to temporary use for converting the AP to standalone?

Instant APs can be used with or without a controller. You purchased a regular AP which can only be used with a controller.
