Android VPN client

    I apologize if this has already been covered elsewhere, but I was wondering if there is a general timeframe for the release of an Android VIA client.  With the release of  4.0, I see the Android based tablet segment poised for significant growth.  I am also starting to see more mometum for business focused tablets like the Cisco Cius.

    Nothing concrete that I can share at this point, except to say that it's being worked on.  Android 4.0 has now added an official API that allows developers to plug-in a VPN client.  We're exploring just what this API gives us and trying to ensure that it lets us build the same capabilities as the VIA client we just released for Apple iOS.  There is also likely to be a VIA client for Android 2.x, but it would require a rooted device - unfortunately that's a limitation of the operating system in 2.x.

     

    We'll have more to say as the plans become more firm.
