    Hi

I've been wrapping my head around this for some time. Tried all kind of fixes. The scenario.

Had a working 3600 controller setup with Clearpass 6.3 Guest. All working.

installed new 7030 controller with AOS 8.1.0.1 setup rules accordingly

    1. created captive portal profile on controller (copied from 3600 setup)

    2. created the following rules for initial role

2.a - http + https access from user to clearpass

    2.b logon-control

    2.c captive portal

2.d set Clearpass captive portal on role (however the GUI never show this, but it is present in CLI

    3. I've tried opening the web page manually, which works - so should be no firewall issues

any ideas what I can be missing??

    Can your client resolve DNS?

Make sure the controller has an ip address in the client vlan.

Hi ---I was about to enter my reply - IP-Address was the issue. The customer had changed VLAN numbers and IP-adressing scheme - so the problem was a non-existent DHCP. working now
