Aruba AP as both mesh and access point mode

    Hi,

     

    I want to configure my current mesh AP to service the WL client as well (Access point mode) So this AP will be acting as both Mesh AP and also servicing the wireless clients.

     

    Please share any sample configuration or an idea on how to do this will be of great help.

    1- Create a Mesh Cluster and Radio profile

    2 - Then apply this profile to the AP-Group you will use for the mesh setup

    3 - Select the AP you want to use for a Mesh portal Switch General Configuration_2013-09-11_13-43-29.png

    Hi Victor,

     

    Thanks for the input. I have the mesh configured. Now i want this ap to service the wireless clients as well. Like the usual AP. Do i hav to just create another profile and map it to the this AP group ?

    I mean a new SSID,AAA,VAP profiles.

    Ok. So you already have one ap group with all those profiles. Apply the mesh profiles referenced above to this group.

    Select one ap from the list and provision it as a mesh portal. This is the ap that will accept the mesh ap's traffic to dump it on your LAN.

    Next select another AP as the mesh point. Once done, it will reboot and try to be a mesh ap. Simply deploy it where needed. This ap should form a mesh link to the portal and also serve clients.
