    Hi guys,

I have some APs which were disconnected from Aruba Central minutes ago, I can see the messages in the Notifications page:

Right now I have access to the APs only via Aruba Central, what commands can I use to see the reason of this disconnection?

    Regards,

    Julián

    Hi John,

Attached the output of the commands. The second one only shows the most recent logs, because I see in the Nofications page the disconnection was at around 11 am.

Is it a keep alive timeout between the VC and the Aruba Central?

    Hi John,

Did you find anything in the logs I attached?

Are you seeing and bandwidth issues or saturation on the uplink to Central? Seems like there is a few time outs? Any errors or dropped packets on the switch ports either?

    Hi zailon0,

Do you mean issues over all the path from the VC toward Central? Right now I only have access to the APs from Central, if I console to the VC I can get this:

    GerGeneral-3P# show int counters
bond0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is Gigabit Ethernet, address is 20:a6:cd:c5:c6:e2
    Speed 1000Mb/s, duplex full
    Received packets 120429081
    Received bytes 37111146330
    Receive dropped 395
    Receive errors 0
    Receive missed errors 0
    Receive overrun errors 0
    Receive frame errors 0
    Receive CRC errors 0
    Receive length errors 0
    Transmitted packets 21815327
    Transmitted bytes 4916030070
    Transmitted dropped 0
    Transmission errors 0
    Lost carrier 0
    GerGeneral-3P#

I see some receive dropped (packets or bytes?) but not much. Is there any option to have a historical of this to see the counters at the moment of the issue?

    Regards,
    Julián

I don’t believe there is historical logs but there should be some further info in the system logs. Are you able to check a perimeter device such as the firewall. Does it affect all the AP’s or just certain ones?

    Hi,

I guessed so. When you say system logs do you refer to the command "show log system"? Because this command only shows the most recent logs, not yesterday's logs. I will check with client about the firewall bandwitdh...

    Julián

Yep that's the one, the IAP only has a short buffer for storing logs so I suspect the logs are being over written quite quickly. If you have a syslog configured, point the IAP to this to ensure all logs are captured. The fact that you are seeing more than 1 IAP reporting issues makes me suspect that there is a wider spread issue occurring.

    Hi John and zailon0,

My customer has just had the Aruba Central disconnection problem again. It seems now it is an Aruba Central problem because it doesn't respond, there are a few logs like this:

Tue Feb 20 13:22:40 2018 Central Failed Aruba Central connection error: did not receive a response from Aruba Central after 0 seconds

And it seems Aruba Central has changed its IP address:

Tue Feb 20 13:37:46 2018 Central In progress Connecting to Aruba Central server at app1.central.arubanetworks.com

Tue Feb 20 13:38:46 2018 Central In progress Connecting to Aruba Central server at app1.central.arubanetworks.com

Tue Feb 20 13:39:34 2018 Central In progress Connecting to Aruba Central server 35.164.74.56, triggered by athena redirect
Tue Feb 20 13:39:34 2018 Central In progress Received new Aruba Central server address: 35.164.74.56

Tue Feb 20 13:39:35 2018 Central In progress Estabished connection with Aruba Central server 35.164.74.56, authenticating...

Is the reason the change of IP address?

I have attached the complete logs I was able to collect.

    What do you think guys?

    Regards,

    Julián
