Does that area of the hospital have lead lined walls?

You probably need to hire a local expert who can tell you about your physical mounting options. We cannot easily advise you since we cannot visit your site.

If they're lead lined walls, you'll have to put the AP in the room.

Not that it's cost effective, but if you have to deploy an AP inside the room, use the AP-275 and remove the plastic solar shield (not required but the shield could protect areas that could lead to bacteria and other pathogens to remain). It's IP66/67 rated and can sustain exposure to water, spray wash, etc. It can be mounted up higher and yet still survive exposure to the regular cleanings and decontamination. The 275 also supports conduit directly into the ethernet port, which would allow the protection of the ethernet from said cables, and provide greater prevention for any contaminants to be left behind after cleaning.

Just a thought. While the 275 is a bit more expensive (for a reason), the cost of a 275 is a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of maintaining an operating room.

You should start by looking at the RF health ( Utilization / Interference) on the controller dashboard

How many SSIDs are you running ?
Do you have drop broadcast/multicast enabled?
Are you only experiencing issues in that location?
